About the event
As a researcher, it is important to find a suitable balance between in depth specialization acquired in your research work and more general skills that will be useful in your future career. At KU Leuven, Lcie (the Leuven Community for Innovation driven Entrepreneurship) offers a variety of choices to enhance your managerial and entrepreneurial skillset. In this presentation we will give an overview of the various options that exist at KU Leuven, including the Lcie Academy, the doctoral school course on exploitation of research, the Product Innovation Project, TechStart and IusStart.
Furthermore, we’ll discuss the spinoff/startup process at KU Leuven. As Europe’s most innovative university, we highly support young researchers that want to pursue their research in the form of setting up their own company. Did you know that researchers from KU Leuven have set up more than 120 spinoff companies so far? We will give you more insights in what the spinoff process looks like, illustrated by several examples from young researchers that have decided to become entrepreneur.
